JUNE 1964 PAGE 8 OCEAN FALLS REPORT by Peter Marshall

The May meeting was the best attended for some time. The membership voted to send $100 to the Alberni Flood Fund.

Four delegates were elected to go to Nanaimo to take the Job Evaluation Training: Brothers Freund, Hogrefe, Reitlo and myself [ie. Peter Marshall]

Brother Len Reitlo was voted Local 312's representative on the Western Canada Council Safety Committee.

Safety

Sad to see two or three employees wandering around the mill on crutches and one department with no less than four employees assigned to"light duties".

New Apartment Block

The new apartment block in Ocean Falls is just about finished - someone the other day suggested that it be donated to the BC Government for use as a penitentiary. With rent as high as $120 they will have to make it a status symbol to fill it.
