Safety Awards to Ocean Falls by Peter Marshall
August saw four Major Safety Awards go to CZ Pulp & Paper Mill in Ocean
Falls.
Two WCB Meritorious Safety Awards for being the safest mill in Group "A"
in the Pulp & Paper Industry in BC for 1957 and 1958. A Certificate of
Achievement in Industrial Safety from the WCB for operating 1,640,821
consecutive man hours free from lost time accident. The fourth award was
a Special award of Merit from the BC Safety Council.
Other awards were the Electrical department - 3rd Gold Certificate which
marked 1,008,051 accident free man hours over a period of 11 years;
Silver award to Lubrication and Mechanics Pool; Bronze Awards to
Finishing Room, Groundwood, Kraft Mill, Paint Shop, and Paper Machines.

Phil Temoin were next with .299 and .286 respectively.
