Why Column
Why do some guys like to mess up the walls of the corridors, bathrooms,
washrooms etc., in the Martin Inn with obscene and filthy sayings? Where
were they brought up? Why to they steal the numerals off the elevator
for indicators ........ take soap dispensers out of the wash rooms
....... tear down paper towel dispensers ........ steal mirrors out of
bathrooms.

clothes from the members tool boxes, lockers and room, Local 312 voted
to post a reward of ten dollars for anyone giving information leading to
the arrest and conviction of such thieves.
The New Order
As a result of some men abusing the smoke areas management has drawn up
a set of rules: All maintenance and construction workers must have their
smoke in the area nearest to the job they are working on, and it must be
between the times of 9:50 to 10:00 in the morning and 2:50 to 3:00 in
the afternoon. It is up to you to determine when 9:50 and 2:50 arrives.
If you miss out on this time you should obtain your foreman's permission
before you smoke at other times. Contrary to rumors these rules are not
the result of a decision arrived at and agreed to by your standing
committee.
