Mr. Benn, MP is in town for a few days. Mr. Benn is vice president of
the Ocean Falls Co., and is here for the purpose of planning further
developments to the Company's plant and also arrange for several heavy
shipments of pulp in the near future.
Mr. Ernest Walker, secretary of the OF Co. arrived last Wednesday
morning for a short visit.
Mrs. A. Martin and her sister Miss Mary Templin left for their home in
Bellingham, Wash. last Friday night. They will return after the
holidays.
The pulp mill will close down this week as the storage facilities have
proved to be insufficient for the output of the mills. The construction
of larger storage sheds will be commenced at once and the wharf footage
will be considerably increased.
Three new planing machines of the latest type will shortly be installed
at the saw mill. The value of each machine will exceed $6,000.
Mrs. T. Hamilton of New Westminster is visiting the Falls this week.
Mrs. Geo. Rice of New York City came on the last trip of the "Chelohsin"
to join her husband at this place.
Mr. A. Millington who has been making a short visit to his brother Mr.
G.H. Millington, returned south on the last boat.

Mr. A.E. Millington formerly general manager of the Spanish River Pulp
mill who accompanied Mr. J. Hamiltion Benn, MP to OF to inspect the
lumber and pulp mills there has been appointed permanent Western manager
of the enterprise with headquarters in Vancouver. Mr. A.B. Martin
continues as resident manager.
About 2000 men are now employed at OF and the output of lumber is
300,000 feet per day.
